Welcome to Lower Clavelshay Farm If you like the simple pleasures of life - long walks, log fires, wildlife, wild flowers, starry nights, comfortable beds, peace and tranquillity, a place to relax, good food, good company and good humour - you will love staying at our bed and breakfast farmstay. Badgers, buzzards and beautiful countryside surrounds the 17th Century farmhouse hidden in its own private valley, on the edge of the Quantock Hills. The farm of 260 acres, run by Bill and Sue Milverton, is a real working farm, having 100 dairy cows, 50 young cows and calves, a few sheep, free range hens, and a soppy spaniel. It is a wonderful place to live and Sue, Bill and family are delighted to share their home with guests, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Although off the beaten track, the farm is within easy reach of Taunton, Bridgwater, the beautiful Quantock Hills, Exmoor, Somerset Levels and the coast. The house and farm are owned by the Crown Estate and the house is thought to date from the 1600's. The house has original beamed ceilings in some rooms and a real log fire in the guest's lounge and dining room. Facilities There are two double rooms with en-suite bathrooms / shower rooms. All rooms are centrally heated and have fine country views. You will be guaranteed a good night's sleep and will wake to the sound of birdsong not traffic. A choice of breakfast or a traditional full English breakfast is served using the best local produce and the freshest eggs you have ever tasted! New for 2005 - Country Licenced restaurant opening in a converted stone barn beside the farmhouse, specialising in locally grown food, our own whereever possible - our beef and dairy products. For more information please visit our website at www.clavelshaybarn.co.uk. Sorry, there is no smoking in either the farmhouse or the resturant. Stables available for overnight or longer stays - treat your horse to a holiday as well! Fantastic riding from the doorstep.
